A 22 year old man was randomly shot while driving on Interstate 76 near downtown Akron early Wednesday.

The victim said a car pulled up next to him while driving and started firing rounds into his car, hitting him in the face. The man pulled over and successfully waved down a passerby for help. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries, which weren’t life threatening.

Despite this, the victim was found with a small amount of weed in his car, and he was driving with a suspended license. He is reportedly being uncooperative with authorities regarding the incident, but 9mm casings were found on the ground where the attack happened.

An investigation is ongoing.
